The 5-Minute Morning Reset I Started Doing When My Body Stopped Responding.
I don’t know what changed after 35, but one day my body just stopped cooperating the way it used to.
I couldn’t stay energized.
I felt puffy all the time.
Coffee started making me feel shaky instead of productive.
And even when I was “trying,” my body still felt stuck.
The frustrating part?
I didn’t feel lazy.
I felt overwhelmed.
And I think a lot of women are quietly living in that same space right now.
We’re taking care of kids.
Working.
Cleaning.
Running errands.
Trying to drink enough water.
Trying to make healthy meals.
Trying to have energy left over for ourselves.
Sometimes wellness starts feeling like another full-time job.
So instead of trying to completely overhaul my life, I started focusing on something much smaller:
micro-routines.
Tiny things I could realistically repeat every day without feeling like I was failing before breakfast.
This is the simple 5-minute morning reset I’ve been loving lately.
Not perfect.
Not extreme.
Just realistic.
Step 1: Drink Water Before Caffeine
I know.
Nobody wants to hear this one.
But I noticed I felt WAY less puffy and sluggish when I started drinking a full glass of water before caffeine.
Especially as women, dehydration can sneak up on us fast and make us feel:
exhausted
hungry
bloated
foggy
headachy
Now I keep a big cup next to my sink and drink it before I even touch my energy drink.
Not glamorous.
But honestly? It helps.
Step 2: Open the Blinds Immediately
This one sounds silly until you try it consistently.
Getting natural light in the morning helps signal to your body that it’s time to wake up and get moving.
And mentally?
It makes me feel less like a tired goblin hiding in my kitchen at 7 AM.
Even if I’m exhausted, opening the blinds instantly makes the house feel more alive.
Tiny shift.
Big difference.
Step 3: Stop Drinking “Dessert Coffee”
This was a hard truth for me.
I love sweet coffee.
But I realized some of those sugary drive-thru drinks were making me crash HARD a few hours later.
Now I try to make my coffee feel balanced instead of overloaded.
Lately, I’ve been loving using my LYVLI NCT Coffee + Creamer because it gives me that sweeter coffee taste I actually enjoy without feeling ridiculously heavy afterward.
And honestly?
Making coffee at home has become part of the routine I actually look forward to now, and did I mention it’s way more affordable?
Step 4: Add Something Supportive Before the Day Gets Crazy
One thing I realized is that if I don’t prioritize myself early in the day… it usually doesn’t happen at all.
Once the day starts moving, moms especially tend to go into survival mode.
So I started keeping simple wellness habits near my coffee station, so I remember to take them before life gets chaotic.
Lately, my go-to has been:
or Happy Glow, depending on the day
Nothing complicated.
Just small supportive habits stacked into things I’m already doing.
That’s the secret, honestly:
Stop trying to create perfect routines and start attaching habits to routines you already have.
Step 5: Move Your Body for 5 Minutes
Not a full workout.
Not a hot girl walk.
Not a 45-minute gym session.
Just movement.
Sometimes I stretch while the kids are getting ready.
I always take a quick walk around the block after eating a meal
Sometimes I literally clean my kitchen aggressively while listening to music.
The goal isn’t perfection.
It’s momentum.
I noticed that when I started my mornings with movement, I made better decisions the rest of the day without even trying.
The Truth No One Talks About
I think a lot of women believe wellness has to look extreme to “count.”
But most of the women I know don’t need another impossible routine.
They need something realistic enough to actually repeat.
That’s why I’ve been loving the idea of micro-routines lately.
Tiny things.
Small shifts.
Less pressure.
More consistency.
And honestly?
I think consistency changes more than motivation ever will.
If You’re Trying to Feel Better Again…
Start smaller than you think you need to.
Drink the water.
Open the blinds.
Take the walk.
Make the coffee.
Stack tiny habits together.
Your body doesn’t need perfection.
It probably just needs support.
